Tirana, December 8, 2010 NOA - The Embassy of Spain in Albania informs that, in order to respond to the request of the Government of Albania to attend the emergency situation created by the floods in the region of Shkodra, the Government of Spain has decided to give a contribution of 150,000 Euros to meet the emergency’s needs, which will be provided by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) through an existing Agreement with the Red Cross to channel the emergency aid.
This contribution will be distributed in Albania by the Albanian Red Cross in order to meet the needs and priorities established by the Government of Albania.
The Embassy of Spain, in this occasion, wants to transmit the solidarity of the Spanish people to the Albanian people for the difficult circumstances due to the floods and express its commitment to contribute to its overcoming.
